I remember all the happy times when I was a kid and all the aunts, uncles, and cousins were together for holidays, birthdays, weddings, and more. Then it was another level of fun and family comraderie when the "old folks" would get together for their monthly celebrations, singalongs, and poetry readings. I surely miss Uncle Bob, who was a key player in all the get-togethers. I am sad that Hurricane Katrina put an end to so many happy gatherings, but he and all the family are forever in my heart.

Sue's Special Memory
Something that I'll always remember is the story Uncle Bob told me about the time Grandma Stella fell on top of him and no one else was at home to help them.  He said they were on the floor for over an hour.  I asked, "what did you do all that time?", and he said he sang songs and told her jokes.  I still have that picture in my mind.  I have so much respect for him and how he handled the many difficult situations he lived through with humility and dignity.  He always tried to make others feel comfortable and important.  He was the life of the party and with his silly songs, stories and jokes, his legacy will live on in the family.  Here's to "Sally Sue", "Johnny Went Down in the Bucket",  "Ain't Gonna Rain No More" and "Animal Pictures at the Zoo".  He sang them to us and I sang them to my children and, hopefully,  they will sing them to their children.  We will all miss his smiling face.
He lived, loved and laughed a long time.   May he rest in peace and joy.
