Roger was born in Presidio, TX to Henry Ramirez and Carlotta Hernandez Ramirez June 7, 1927. He was a member of the armed forces serving our country in the U. S. Army as a Corporal in the Korean War. He worked as a Form Setter/Carpenter by profession and was a member of the Carpenter’s Union.
He is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Carlotta, 1st wife Dolores Ramirez, 2nd wife Alma Ramirez, sisters Flora Hernandez, Stella Duran Talamantes, Elvira Duran; brothers Robert “Chuga” Duran and Raymundo Duran; step-daughters Suzie Yepez Gomez and Sonia Villa Valencia; and step-sons Ruben Barela and Johnny Barela.
Roger is survived by his wife Mercedes Correa Barela Ramirez of Montclair, son Roy (Dora) Ramirez, grandsons Damien (Juneka), Dustin (Monica), and Kevin (Amy) and great-grandchildren, Ava, Dominic, Kendall, Kysen and Kollyns all of Oregon.
Also survived by his siblings Vincent “Chikini” Duran, Lucy Duran Perry, Gloria “Cunina” Perez and Joey Duran, step-children, George Rico of WA, Sandy Villa Ricard of CO, Sylvia Villa Plaza (CA), Jeff Villa (Sally) of Ontario, CA, Yolanda Zepeda (Vicente) of Hesperia, CA, Mercy Terrazas (Gerardo) of Upland, CA, Ortencia Sanchez (Peter) of Alta Loma, CA, Sylvia Lemke (Dan) of Mt. Vernon, WA, Jimmy Barela (Tina) of Rialto, CA, and numerous step-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Draper’s Mortuary Chapel on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. Visitation is from 11 AM – 12 PM. A funeral service will be held at 12 PM with burial immediately following at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery at 1 PM.
Private reception will be held.
