

William Francis Strohman, 94, died peacefully July 19, 2025, in Ontario, CA, surrounded by his family. Bill was born November 20, 1930, in Webster, Iowa. He was the oldest of five children. The family members were Bill, Bob, Sonnie, Jerry and Mike.
Bill grew up in Iowa. He joined the Army in 1952 and was chosen to be trained as a Paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division. He fought in the Korean War and received the Korean Service Medal with the Bronze Service Star and the Combat Infantry Badge.
He was married to Rita for 60 years. They had four children: Kay Johnson of Upland, Terri Klein of Oswego, NY, Sherri Velasco of Rancho Cucamonga and Scott Strohman of Rancho Cucamonga. He has thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
Bill was a swimming pool excavator for nearly 30 years. He dug many pools in the Inland Valley from 1970-1995. He enjoyed boating, playing Pepper (a favorite card game) and barbecuing in his backyard with family and friends.
Bill and Rita spent most of their retired years residing in Lake Havasu prior to returning to Rancho Cucamonga. Some of his most memorial moments were spent teaching his grandchildren to water ski and fish on Lake Havasu. Bill has been active with the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign War.
The family memorial services will be held at the Draper Mortuary in Ontario, Thursday, July 31 with the burial at Bellevue Cemetery.
