Connie Lynn Turnbaugh, 73, of Ontario passed away Friday, July 26, 2024 at Wedgewood Assisted Living. Connie was born to Everett and Eva Bell (Wilson) Smith December 2, 1950. Growing up as the youngest of five children, she lived in Ontario all her life. Connie graduated from Ontario High, class of 1969, where she was a cheerleader, and wrestling cheerleader captain. Connie went to Riverside for Nursing School and worked in nursing for about 20 years. She then worked in Real Estate for Sluss Realty for 25 years. Connie married Harold “Tunie” Turnbaugh September 9, 1972. She truly loved her family; family was everything to Connie. She enjoyed her time spent at her cabin in Pleasant Hill and spent many weekends boating and playing cards with her family. She loved animals and took in many strays. She loved being outdoors and taking photographs. Connie attended many sporting events of her children and grandchildren, she refused to miss them..
Connie is survived by her husband, Harold “Tunie” Turnbaugh; sons, Nick (Alison) Turnbaugh and Wes (Trisha) Turnbaugh; grandchildren, Colton, Ethan, Adison, Mason, Morgan, and Tyler; siblings Norma Perry, Bruce Smith, and Shirley Hollingsworth; and many close lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jack Smith; granddaughter Sadie Marie Turnbaugh; and in-laws, Harold and Marie Turnbaugh.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 South Lexington-Springmill Rd, Ontario. Services will be Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Wappner Funeral Directors-Ontario, Pastor George Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Ontario Cemetery.
