Born October 30, 1955, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Lacy M. and Ruby J. (Belcher) Keith, he retired as a Manager at Newman Technologies. He loved riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles and raced in the local flat track circuit.
David dearly loved his wife, Kathleen, and they shared 51 wonderful years together. Known affectionately as “Z.Z.”, for the impressive beard he sported, he most embraced his title of “Grandpa Beard” given to him by his grandchildren. David was a devoted husband, beloved father and adored grandfather and his memory will live on in the lives of his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Tackett Keith; two grandchildren, Devin (Dreiven) Keith and Robbie (Jenn) Keith; four great-grandchildren, River, Axel, Kaden and Ryleigh Keith; two brothers, Dale Keith and Dennis (Joyce) Keith; ten in-laws; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David Leon Keith Jr.; a brother, Daniel Lee Keith; and a sister, Deanna Lowe.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Wappner Funeral Directors-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario, OH 44906. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Clifford Earl Tackett officiating. He will be laid to rest in Oak Grove Memorial Park, 4108 US-42 S, Lexington, OH 44904.
