Born June 3, 1936, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Frank and Virginia (Mackert) Demoise. Robert worked in supermarket management in the Mansfield area for many years. He was an insurance agent at National Masonic Insurance, worked at The Center, caring for mentally ill persons and at Richland County Job and Family Services. He was also a substitute teacher at Pioneer Career and Technology Center.
Robert was passionate about helping others. He was an excellent listener and challenged people to discover and become their best selves. He volunteered his time with St. Peter’s Catholic Church on the Financial Committee. Robert was a life member of the Elks and Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Rebecca V. Teschler Demoise; three children, Cyndi Demoise, Laura G. (Hub) Kieser and Alec (Jody) Demoise; three step children, Korinna Goettel (Richard Durkin), Brian (Cheryl) Fraizer and Christopher (Ami) Fraizer; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Chuck (Nancy) Demoise; a nephew, David (Erin) Demoise; beloved cat, Angelbella; and many cherished family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Jacobs; and son, Robert Demoise Jr.
At Robert’s request, a private family service will be held at Mansfield Memorial Park. Contributions in memory of Robert may be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 104 W. First Street, Mansfield, Ohio 44902. Wappner Funeral Directors-Ontario is honored to serve the family.
