Sandra Kay Tackett, age 61, of Mansfield passed away Sunday morning, February 22, 2026, at her home. She was born on December 21, 1964, in Mansfield, Ohio, one of eight children of the late Eugene and Laura (Slone) Lowe.
From an early age she understood the priceless gift of family. For Sandy, being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother were her priorities. She enjoyed hosting Sunday dinner inviting as many people as possible to come. She was an amazing cook and welcomed anyone into her home for a meal or a meaningful conversation. Sandy’s heart was huge and open, embracing everyone and she never sat in judgment of someone. She was the best person you could ever hope to meet, and you were blessed if you had her in your life. Her compassionate spirit fit perfectly in her career choice as a home health aide. Her laugh, smile, and the unconditional love she gave will be remembered for years to come.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Kenny Tackett; two children, Linda Tackett, and Dianna (Cody) Adkins; six grandchildren, Davone (Jill), Daylin (Destiny), Veronica, Breyonia, Sophia, and Emmalynn; a great-granddaughter, Keh’Lani; and six siblings, Linda, Sally, Jimmy, Susie, Tony, and Robin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Darriel.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Wappner Funeral Directors and Crematory-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 am. She will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park.
