Shelby Jean Swiney of Mansfield passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025, at her home. She was 86 years old.

Born September 25, 1938, in Pikeville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Dorcie (Short) and Bert Spears. She was a very caring and giving person and always had a smile on her face. While she was a homemaker her entire life, she also was the driving partner of her first husband, Burt, for four years. Shelby’s gentle nature, love and kindness will be treasured by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Earl Swiney; three children, Karen (Charles) Calvin, Rhonda (Steven) Sharp and Kimberley (Phil) Iseman; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Shelby is preceded in death by her first husband, Burt; granddaughter, Melissa Street; two brothers; and two sisters.

There will be no visitation or service observed. Wappner Funeral Directors and Crematory-Ontario is honored to serve the family.
