She moved to Chicago, IL. At the age of 15, where she attended public school and worked part-time to support herself. Later, at the age of 18 she moved to Detroit Michigan to be with other family members. She found employment at a nursing home there. That is when she began to develop a sense of loving and caring for others. This loving care became a pattern in her life.
Later in her life, through close friends, she heard of Jehovah. She became truly enthused, and began to study the Bible and learned the Truth and her life was changed from then on. She was baptized into Jehovah’s Organization in September 1979. Her love for Jehovah led her to reach out to many people, some of whom became lifelong friends.
In June 1976 she had met and became friends with a fellow named Clyde Dupree, who later, also began to study and learn the truth and was baptized. Alice and Clyde were married on May 22, 1980. Together they lived and loved each other and Jehovah for the next 35 years until her passing on August 28, 2015.
For her the road was getting tough.
The hills were hard to climb.
She gently closed her eyes,
And whispered, “Please, let peace be mine.”
The weary hours, the days of pain,
The sleepless nights are passed;
Her ever patient, worn out frame,
Has found sweet peace at last.
The family
