Carey Lee Wright

Carey L. Wright, 62, of Debary Florida, died peacefully Sunday January 29, 2017. He was predeceased by his parents Carl Davis and Agnes Ledeva Wright. Carey is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jane Wright (Hendrix), daughter Carianne Wright, brother Carl Wright and sister-in-law Judy Wright, their children Chris and Brad, and his sister Robin Bonner and her husband Larry, and their children Barry and Laure.

Carey was born in Tuscaloosa Alabama and loved playing baseball. He started out as a bat boy for his brother’s team and they went to the American Legion World Series in 1966. He went on to play at Holt High School in Tuscaloosa as a pitcher and was also the quarterback his senior year for their football team. He received a scholarship to pitch at Livingston University in Alabama and his team played in the college world series in 1976. He graduated from Livingston with a BS in 1977. He went on to obtain his MBA from the University of Alabama where he did the taxes for Coach Bear Bryant one year while working on his CPA. After he obtained his CPA he became a partner at BMC CPAs firm in the mid 1990’s. He has been a respected member at DeBary Golf and Country Club for over 20 years where in 2011 he became the only member to win both the Club Championship and the Senior Club Championship in the same year.
