Delia B. Thomas, 77, Deltona,Florida died Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Central Florida Regional Hospital, Sanford. She was born February 20, 1933 in Vega Alta , Puerto Rico to the late Jose and Josefa Gonzalez. Delia moved to Deltona, Florida 11 years ago from Bronx , New York. She was a former clerk at the Manhattan General Post Office, retiring in 1992 after 22 years of service. She was a member of our Lady of Lakes Catholic Church, Deltona. Delia was doll collector, a wonderful cook and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing dominoes and being with her family. She is survived by her husband of 27 years Felix Thomas; Four sons- Peter Alvarez of Tampa, Florida; Jorge Pierna of Bronx, New York; Lorenzo Pierna of Bronx, New York; Sergio Pierna of Deltona, Florida. One daughter- Sandra Hasbun of Tampa, Florida. Two brothers- Miguel Gonzalez of Bayamon, Puerto Rico; Pedro Juan Gonzalez of Brooklyn, New York. Two sisters- Carmen Favela of New Jersey and Paulina Balderas of New Jersey; Ten Grandchildren and eight Great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 P.M. Friday at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 10 A.M. Saturday at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home with Fr. Carlos Bedoya officiating. Interment will follow at Deltona Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Deltona Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1295 Saxon Blvd., Orange City, Florida is in charge of arrangements.
