George Joseph Teeters was born in Park Falls, WI on July 23, 1933 with the help of a midwife in a log cabin out in the woods. He passed peacefully into the loving arms of the Lord on June 27 at the age of 84.
He was the second of 10 children born to Leo and Agnes (Rein) Teeters. He married Josephine Bonjiovanni on August 10, 1957 in Miami.
George joined the Air Force shortly after high school graduation and served 20+ years retiring as a Master Sergeant. He served tours of service in the Korean War, Vietnam War, Alaska and England to name a few. He also worked for Florida Power and Light in Homestead, FL for 20 years before retiring and building a home in Orange City.
Proud VFW and American Legion member. He was an active Knights of Columbus member. Member of the faithful community of St Ann’s Catholic Church and loved serving as an usher for as long as he could.
George loved his family. He enjoyed boating on the St. John’s River. He loved to come to Wisconsin, go deer hunting, and visit with some of his brothers and sister and other relatives.
He is survived by his daughter JoAnne (and son-in-law Bobby) Jackson and her three children, Zachery James Chase, Sebastian Tyler Jackson and Destiny Leigh Jackson. Two great grandchildren, Anthony Taylor Jackson and Aiden Jackson. Two sisters Mary (Richard) Wallace of Gilbert, AZ, Carol (Patrick) Szymczak of Wautoma, WI. Five brothers Richard (Jean) of Phoenix, AZ, Kenneth (Judy) Teeters of Wausau, WI, John (Paula) Teeters of Tomball, TX, Dan (Kathy) Teeters of Wausau, WI and Tom (Connie) Teeters of Park Falls, WI. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and other relatives.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Josephine, his brother James and his wife Mary and his brother Jerry and his wife Betty.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday July 2, 2018, 11 am to 12 noon at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 26 Dogwood Trail, DeBary. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 PM. Burial will follow Mass in Deltona Memorial Gardens, Orange City, FL with full Military Honors.
