Helen Theresa Besner, 95, of Orange City, died Sunday, May 17, 2020 in Orlando.
Mrs. Besner was born on March 5, 1925 in Askham, Pennsylvania to the late Stanley and Jennie Jablonski. She met her husband in New York City during World War II. In 1985 she moved to Florida from Massachusetts. She worked as a bookkeeper until the age of 80 for Kepler Storage in Deland. Ms. Besner was a devout Catholic. Over the years, she took in many family members and showered them with love and generosity, especially her many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 71 years; a World War II Veteran, Ernest Joseph Besner, and two siblings, Josephine and Stanley.
Survivors include her sister Theresa Rood and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family will receive visitors from 10-11 am on Tuesday, May 26 at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home in Orange City. The Christian Prayer Service will be celebrated at 11 am by Father Andrzej Jurkiewicz.
Private interment will be held in Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on Wednesday.
