

James Harding a resident of Deltona, FL died at the age of 76 on Monday, December 26, 2022. He was born in Detroit, Michigan to Gladys (Delaney) Harding and Arthur “Pete” Harding on January 11, 1946. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. For several years, Jim worked as a groundskeeper at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, MI. In the decades that followed, he was a Vac-Con operator for Seminole County storm water operations when he retired. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Loyal Order of Moose. He was a classic car enthusiast and collector of vintage automobiles. He is survived by children Laura Heron, Joan Heron, Donald Camper, and Robert Harding and 10 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great Grandchild and brother Michael (Lori) Harding.
Jim will be missed by extended family and friends including Jennifer D’Amico, Ryan Ertel, Bill Sabine, and sister in laws Nancy Harding and Barbara Harding, and Cousin James Goff. He was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 43 years Janet Harding, his parents, his sister Mary Anne and his brothers Peter, Jack, and Jerry with whom he was close to until their deaths. James Harding was a beloved grandfather, father, husband, brother, and son during his incredible 76 years of life. We will miss Jim dearly, but we are so grateful for the time we had to spend with him.
A funeral service for James will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763.
