John was a Navy veteran during World War II and was retired from the U.S.Postal Service, where he was employed as a mechanic.
He is survived by his loving wife, Florence and one daughter, Anne O'Hara, two grandchildren, Shawn and Michael O'Hara and a sister, Dorothy Whelan.
Friends will be received on Thursday, Oct 21st and Friday, Oct 22nd from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm. A wake service will be held on Friday, Oct 22nd at 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, October 23rd at 12:00 pm at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, 1310 Maximillian Street, Deltona with Father Joe Roberts officiating.
Full military honors will follow at Deltona Memorial Gardens Chapel of Peace at 1:00pm. Honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy and the V.F.W Post # 8093 and the American Legion.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
