Julia Helen Irwin, age 100, of John Knox Village, Orange City, Florida passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024. Julia, the youngest child of her family, was born in Waynesville, Illinois on November 1, 1923. She graduated from Decatur High School (Decatur, IL) in 1941 and briefly attended Illinois State University but discontinued her studies to work in a munitions factory during the war.
Julia was married to Paul Lyman Irwin (USN) on October 4, 1944. She worked in bookkeeping and in secretarial positions until her retirement.
Julia and Paul were enthusiastic travelers and collectors in America and abroad; visiting every continent except Antarctica.
Julia is preceded in death by her siblings, her husband, and her son, Dennis P. Irwin. She is survived by her daughter, Lori E. Irwin; and two grandsons, Kevin Irwin, father of Nathaniel and Josephine; and Justin Irwin, father of Landon.
