

Deltona, FL, age 66, died on July 12, 2013 at Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler in Orange City, Florida. He is survived by his wife, Della; a son, David of Port Orange, FL; a daughter, Vikki (Steve) Robenstein of Orange City, FL; two grandsons, Devon and Dalton; two sisters, Susan (Harry) Robbins and Betsy (Brian) McKenna both of PA; two brothers, Jimmie Gowton of TX and Michael (Beverly) Gowton of PA; lots of nieces and nephews. Russell graduated from Pennsbury High School of Fairless Hills, PA in 1964 and Bucks County Technical School. He worked at U.S.Steel Fairless Works as a Motor Inspector for 28 years and 2 years at Clairton Works in Pittsburgh. After retiring, he moved to Florida and worked at Ace Hardware for 15 years.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 20th at 10:30 am at the Barnett Memorial United Methodist Church,1715 Jacob Brock Avenue, Enterprise, FL with Pastor James Beckley officiating. Inurnment will follow in Deltona Memorial Gardens, Orange City, FL. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 1625 Veterans Memorial Parkway, Orange City, FL 32763 or the American Cancer Society, http://www.cancer.org/ 1-800-227-2345. Arrangements were entrusted to Deltona Memorial Funeral Home in Orange City, Florida.
