

Wanda J. Combs, age 91 passed away on April 19, 2021. She was born in Akron, Ohio in 1929. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Eula Poling of Akron, Ohio. Wanda was married for 68 years to a career naval officer and she traveled throughout the United States and the Western Pacific during the early years of their marriage. Her oldest son was born in Guam and her youngest son was born in Japan. Her second and third sons were born in Missouri.
She is survived by her husband, Gene; four sons, Robert (Margaret) of Deland, FL. William (Sally) of Deland, FL. Thomas (Susan) of Deltona, FL. Mark (Beverly) of Crimora, VA and one stepdaughter, Terrie (Lynn) and family, of Anderson, SC. Wanda also leaves ten grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
Her favorite pastimes were crosswords and spending time with her husband, sons, grandchildren and their families. She also enjoyed crocheting, photography and handcrafts. She has been a member of Fernleaf Chapter 422, OES, which joined with the Anna Dean Chapter #595 in Akron, Ohio since 1948. She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Eula.
Services will be held on Monday April 26, 2021 at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home in Orange City, FL on Saxon Blvd. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00am for a visitation and 11:00am for a funeral service. Pastor Kevin Key will be officiating. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Mineral Wells, WV.
