Bobby Leroy Dean

Bobby Leroy Dean, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and the cherished patriarch of his family, entered eternal rest on December 28, 2025, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. He was born on October 17, 1950, in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Lonnie and Delores Dean.

Bobby honorably served his country in the United States Army, a commitment that reflected his lifelong values of service, discipline, and integrity. Following his military service, he dedicated more than 50 years to his craft as a Master Tiler. A true builder with exceptional skill, Bobby took great pride in working with his hands and was known as a jack of all trades whose workmanship spoke for itself.

A sports-minded man, Bobby had a lifelong love for football and was a devoted fan of the Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars, Florida Gators. He also found great joy and peace in nature. He loved fishing, spending time on his boat, gardening, and surrounding himself with flowers. Being outdoors brought him a sense of calm, and he was known as a peaceful individual with a gentle spirit and a giving heart.

Family was the center of Bobby’s life. He deeply loved his family and treasured time spent together, especially during family cookouts and shared celebrations. He enjoyed traveling and creating lasting memories, but his greatest joy was his grandchildren, who held a special place in his heart. Bobby was a servant to his community, always willing to help others, and his legacy of kindness and generosity will live on through the many lives he touched.

Bobby was preceeded in death by his parents Lonnie and Delores Dean, his son Lonnie Dean, and his 4 brothers : Larry, Leon, Jean, and Danny Dean.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Gloria Dean, Barbara Jean Dean, Terrell Dean, Tera Dean , his grandchildren: Dennis (Cindy), Bobby, Ashleigh, Loni , Mary (Byron), Ethan, Harmonie, twelve great grand kids, one great great grand child, and a host of loving family members who will forever cherish his memory.

A visitation honoring the life of Bobby Leroy Dean will be held on January 7, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Rivermead Funeral Home, located at 127 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, Florida 32073. A Celebration of Life service will follow immediately at 12:00 p.m. at the same location. Upon conclusion of the service, a Committal Service with Military Honors will be held at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 111 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, Florida 32073.

Bobby Leroy Dean will be remembered as a hardworking man, a loving family leader, and a man whose life was built on faith, service, and love.
