

Brenda Simmons Satterfield, beloved mother, nana, sister, and friend passed on December 3rd, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on August 20th, 1949, in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. Brenda lived much of her life in Florida and was a long-standing resident of Melrose. She is remembered for her independence, strength she has carried throughout her life, and the love she shared with those close to her. Brenda’s sassy spirited personality will be remembered by all who loved her, and she was loved by many.
Brenda spent many years working at the United Rent All in Gainesville FL, during that time she made great friends and left a lasting impact on her coworkers. She was known for her sharp wit and easy humor.
Brenda leaves behind a great legacy of love. She is survived by her children, Lisa Semione, Thomas Semione, Patricia (Kevin) Horton, James (Rebecca) Truitt, and Michael (Jessica) Simmons. Her grandchildren, Matthew Semione, Lindsey (Alec) Wiggins, Taylor (Ben) Dykes, C.J. Rogers, Kelsey (Nic Robideau), Garrett Semione, Mikayla Simmons, Carter (Sutherlyn) Semione, Hanna Simmons, Michael B Simmons, Lucas Horton, Charla Simmons, and Teven Simmons. And her great grandchildren, Kolby Major, Lincoln Major, Kaliah Parker, Remi Dykes, Emilia Beck, Cove Dykes, Kamari Newman, Oswald Robideau, Guinevere Beck, Everlea Williams (May 2026), and baby Semione (July 2026). She is also survived by her siblings, Marsha Wakefield and Paul Chamberlin. Finally, Brenda leaves her partner Fred Hall, whom she spent many years with and loved dearly.
Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, Priscilla McClary Chamberlain (George Chamberlain) and Donald McClary. Her brother, Stewart McClary, her husband, the love of her life, Jimmy Simmons. And her granddaughter, Sarah Semione. Brenda was joined in death by her brother, Ronnie Chamberlain who passed on December 5th, 2025.
The family will gather to privately celebrate Brenda’s life, and she will be laid to rest in the Eliam Cemetery in Melrose, Florida.
