

Frances Yvonne Calhoun, age 68, of Fleming Island, Florida, loving wife of Guy Calhoun, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023, surrounded by loving family. After a long and courageous battle against cancer, she is healed and whole with her Savior. She was born in Waterbury, Connecticut, to the late Walter and Lilla Magnavice and will be dearly missed by her family.
After growing up in Prospect, Connecticut, Fran joined the U.S. Navy in 1973, and was married to Guy on November 20, 1976. The Navy took them to California, the Philippines, Guam, and Florida. After her military service, Fran excelled in her work in administrative roles, finally retiring from Interline Brands after 23 years in Marketing and Purchasing.
Fran was known by all who loved her for her incredible strength, forgiveness, and sacrificial love. She loved to keep her hands busy with crafty endeavors of all kinds, especially crocheting gifts for her loved ones. All who were so blessed to be loved by her carry on in immeasurable gratitude for that honor.
Fran is survived by her loving husband, Guy (Rocky) Calhoun; daughters: Alana Lingle (Brandon) and Adrianne Nicole Calhoun; brother, Walter Magnavice (Dorothy), sisters: Cindi Putett (John), Margot Magnavice Foster, Heidi Veilleux (Gary), Renee Ivkovich (Joseph) and Tanja Cromb (Noel); grandchildren: Peter, Isaac, Anna, & AJ Lingle, Madyson Calhoun; and host of extended family and friends, including her best friend Debra Baisch.
Memorial services will be held 10 AM, Monday, November 6, 2023 at North Jacksonville Baptist Church, 8531 North Main Street, Jacksonville, FL. Graveside services will be at Jacksonville National Cemetery, (Lane 1), 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL at 12:30 PM on Monday with military honors.
