To all the Stafford family,

Please know I am so sorry to hear the passing of Garland. As a little girl, I so greatly remember his visits to his Uncle Eugene "Red" Claytor in Virginia. Those memories will always be in my heart.

I have so many memories of my Uncle Staff beginning with his visits to my home while he was in uniform (I was 4-5).  I distinctly remember how he "crinkled" due to all the leather of his FHP uniform, and he was so, so tall.  Since growing up I have the greatest memories of fishing/crabbing/boating family get togethers.  Uncle Staff brought so much to those parties with his quick wit, smiling face and endless jokes.  He was much loved and will be sorely missed.  I know he is up there with his son and wife Margie looking down on us all.

We remember the good times with we shared with Garland and his family.  May his soul rest in peace with those who he loved and gone before him.  Our sincere sympathy to all who lives he has touched.
