Gloria K. Tillman

Gloria King Tillman, 86, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family and friends on October 3, 2012. She was native of Jacksonville and Orange Park. Mrs. Tillman graduated from Andrew Jackson High School and attended Aurora College. She was a lifelong member of North Jacksonville Baptist Church and retired from the City of Jacksonville, Clerk of Court. She loved the Senior Citizens Dancing Club. Mrs. Tillman was preceded in death by her husband, James Haywood Tillman, Sr; 4 brothers and 3 sisters. She is survived by her 2 sons: James H. “Woody” (Leigh) Tillman, Jr. and Stephen A. (Irina) Tillman; daughter, Nancy (Bobby) Thigpen; brother, John P. King, Sr.; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A special thanks to her caregivers who loved her so much: Pat, Dawn, Pam, Liz and Sheila. Family will receive friends on Friday (TODAY) 6-8 PM at HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 5753 Blanding Blvd, Jacksonville, FL. Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Saturday, October 6, 2012 at North Jacksonville Baptist Church, 8531 N. Main Street, Jacksonville with Dr. Herb Reavis, Jr. officiating.
