Kirk Randal Tuttle, 66, of Jacksonville, Florida went to his final reward on Saturday September 25th, 2021. Kirk was born October 10th, 1954 in Barrackville, West Virginia to Lester Adrian Tuttle and Doris May (Haught) Tuttle. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother Jamie Tuttle; his oldest brother Mark R Tuttle; sister-in-law Betty Boyers; and brother-in-law Doug Davis.
Kirk loved sports and played on state championship basketball teams at Barrackville High School. While a student there he met the only love of his life, Cheryl (Davis) Tuttle. They were married 3 months after meeting and just celebrated 49 years of marriage on July 1st, 2021.
Kirk is survived by his wife, Cheryl; his son, Matt Tuttle (Kerri); his daughter Amanda Tuttle; grandchildren Jake Tuttle, Chase Welch (Victoria), Julia Tuttle, and Benjamin Tuttle, all of Jacksonville, Florida who adored their Pawpaw. He is also survived by a brother Jack Tuttle (Susan), who was his best friend, of Barrackville, West Virgina; sister Lark Tuttle (Billy Davis) of Madison, Ohio; Brothers-in-law Jim Boyers (Liz), Jay Davis (Shannon), and Dana Davis (Jacqueline) all of Fairmont, West Virginia; and Sisters-in-law Clara Mathew (Mike) and Patty Roberts both of South Carolina; and many beloved nieces, nephews ,great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
Kirk worked at Federal 1 in Grant Town, West Virginia as a cleaning plant control room operator for 12 years before moving to Florida to work at a Christian school and coach basketball. Next Kirk worked at the Skyway Express with Jax Transportation Authority as a control room supervisor for 21 years before retiring. Kirk was a longtime member of the Wesconnett Church of Christ and helped with security and many other tasks there. He loved to sit on his back porch with his cat, Mittens, and watch tv and talk to family on the phone. He also loved to squirrel hunt in the fall and enjoyed the leaves changing and the weather cooling.
Funeral services will be held at Hardage-Giddens Rivermead, 127 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, Florida 32073 on Friday October 1st, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday. Out of respect for the family’s wishes, all attending are asked to wear a mask. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made in Kirk’s name to the American Liver Foundation.
