

She was the widow of Arthur M. Sargent, who died in 1990.
The daughter of the late Eric Pierce and the late Mildred (Jordan) Pierce Akers of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, she was born September 29, 1929, in Boston, Massachusetts.
Survivors include daughter Suzanne Penticoff and husband Bruce of Coca Beach; daughter Sandra DiGiovanni and husband Barry of Orange Park; three grandchildren, Jason Nichols of Ocala, Rebecca Rohacs and husband Jason of Atwood, Illinois, and Jocelyn Brice and husband Brant of Mandarin; four great-grandchildren, Avery and Evan Nichols of Ocala and Lindsay and Cassidy Rohacs of Atwood, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
Rebecca worked 25 years with the Bell System and took early retirement in 1985. After retirement she volunteered with 1st United Methodist Church and Cape Canaveral Hospital both in Cocoa Beach.
She was an experienced traveler, and her trips took her around the globe, from Australia and New Zealand to Greece, Germany, to the top of Mauna Kea on the big island of Hawaii and to her ancestral home in England. She loved adventure and had zip-lined in her 80’s, as well as a hot-air balloon ride. She even decorated a float for the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, California.
Rebecca was the last family member of “the greatest generation”, she will be missed.
