Ronald Pearce Baker passed away on Friday, May 18, 2012. He was surrounded by loved ones and died peacefully. He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Grace K Baker and by his three children, Elizabeth Corbett, Deborah Baker, and Richard Baker (Sandra). Additional loved ones include two sisters Jean Baker and Jane Lindsey, and grandchildren including Erika Poirrier (Erik), Jason Corbett (Shannon), Deborah Corbett, Elizabeth Belcher, Joshua Belcher, and Kevin Jordan (deceased). Ronald and his loving wife Kitty also have great grandchildren including Zachary Corbett, Sydney Corbett, Benjamin Poirrier, Ellie Poirrier and Vernetta Williamson. Ron was born on October 10, 1931 in Mineral Ridge, Ohio and lived there till he enlisted in the Navy in 1951. He spent more than 22 years serving his country and then taught electricity at Orange Park High School for 3 years and then DCT for an additional 10 years. Throughout his life he spent time working with the Boy Scouts of America, both as a scout and scout leader. He learned carpentry at an early age and spent many hours working with wood. He and Kitty were active in Square dancing and they traveled extensively following his retirement from teaching. He was a loving husband and father, was respected by many and will be missed. The memorial will be held in the sanctuary of Orange Park United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 10 am. A reception will follow in the Family Life Center.
