

Helene Nesypor, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 25th, 2025 at the age of 99. Born in 1925 in Antwerp, Belgium, Helene lived a remarkable life defined by style, love, and grace.
During World War II, she met her husband Joe, an American soldier. Their bond was immediate and enduring. they were married for 57 years until Joe’s passing in 2002.
In 1947, Helene and Joe moved to the United States with their young daughter to begin a new chapter. Together, they raised four children and built a beautiful life rooted in family, tradition, and dedication. Helene became a proud U.S. citizen in 1960, cherishing her American identity while never losing the charm of her Belgium roots.
Helene worked for many years at Louis Vuitton in Oak Brook, where she was admired for her impeccable style, elegance, and warm, engaging personality. Her silvery white hair, French accent, and fashion sense made her unforgettable to all who met her. A devoted volunteer, Helene was an active member of the Little Company of Mary Auxiliary and proudly served as its president from 1977 to 1979.
Helene is survived by her children Kate (Vern) Scarpelli, MaryLynn (Bob) Wilson, Chris Nesypor (Neva Ambrosia), and Greg (Cindy) Nesypor; eight grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her great joy and pride.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helene’s memory to Lightways Hospice, Joliet, IL.
Helene’s legacy of love, kindness, and elegance lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. A visitation for Helene will be held on Monday September 8th, 2025 at Orland Funeral Home 9900 W. 143rd Street, Orland Park, from 9:00am until 10:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Michael Catholic Church 14327 Highland Ave, Orland Park beginning at 11:00am. Interment at Fairmount Willow Springs Cemetery, Willow Springs, IL.
