Margaret was the beloved wife of the late John Doherty, and the devoted mother of the late Daniel Doherty. She was a cherished, kind-hearted woman who touched the lives of all who knew her. She was an adoring grandma to Dawn Doherty and Katie (PD) Hollis, and proud great grandma to Hunter, Caelan, Brent, Blake, and Rory. Margaret was also a fond Aunt, cousin, and dear friend to many.
Margaret’s greatest joy in life was being a grandma. She took immense pride in celebrating holidays and birthdays, always going out of her way to make each occasion special, meaningful, and filled with love. The memories she created will be treasured for a lifetime.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Ellen Egan, husband John, son Daniel, and sister Catherine ‘Kay’ Egan.
A visitation will be held for Margaret on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Orland Funeral Home, 9900 W. 143 rd St. Orland Park, IL. Funeral will be Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 10:00 am. Chapel service at Orland Funeral Home. Interment Holy Sepulchre, Alsip, IL.
