

Born in 1926 Chelmondiston Suffolk, United Kingdom and resident in Orlando since 1991. David peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on January 16, 2012.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 21 years, Nancy (Reasoner) Briggs, his 5 children (Valerie, Stephen, Rebecca, William and Victoria) and 4 step children (Pamela, Sandra, David, and Troy). David is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 1 great- grandchild. David served with the 8th Parachute Battalion (British 6th Airborne Division). The battalion took part in the D.Day and Battle of the Bulge (Ardennes) operations of 1944, the Rhine crossing in 1945 and finally Palestine where the battalion was disbanded on amalgamation in 1948. In later life David became a successful leisure industry manager. He retired in 1991, immigrated across the pond to settle in Orlando where he became a courier for the law firm of former U.S. Senator Mel Martinez and ended his career with 4C. Visitation will be held at 11:00 a..m. Wednesday, January 18 with funeral service at noon. Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, 2811 Curry Ford Road.
