Edwin T. Hamil, Jr. 86 of Astor, FL and a former long time Orlando resident passed away on May 14, 2014. Mr. Hamil retired from the Orange County Public Schools in 1988, where he has served for many years as the Assistant Principal of Walker Junior High School. He also served as Pastor for the Eastside Baptist Church for many years in the late 1960’s. He served proudly in the US Navy during World War II. Edwin is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Mary; his son, William; his grandchildren: Chris Hamil, Amy Hamil and Amanda Hamil; by his five great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. His son Ron Hamil preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 19, 2014 from 4-7 PM at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, 2811 Curry Ford Road, Orlando, FL.
