
Gardner Earl Daniel, 87, of Orlando, FL, passed away on April 5, 2023. Born on January 19, 1936, to the late Gardner Ray Daniel and Eulah Henry Daniel, Gardner is an Air Force Veteran and a graduate of the University of Nebraska.
He was multi-talented, being offered a full music scholarship to the University of Kentucky, but he ultimately focused on Business and quickly advanced his career to bank CEO. Gardner became well-known as a turnaround specialist, saving many banks from failure. His exemplary banking standards and ethics led him to be appointed to the Kentucky Financial Institutions Board by the Governor.
Gardner was an outstanding tenor and a long-serving member of the church choir. He was a Kentucky Colonel, participated in many sports, made hand crafted furniture, wrote and published a book, and was considered a ‘2nd Dad’ by many. A devoted University of Kentucky basketball fan he passed that devotion on to his children and grandchildren.
Gardner was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 62 years, Phyllis Jean Nunley Daniel. He is survived by a sister, Delores Daniel Frederick (Vernon), his children, Mark Daniel (Becky), Brian Daniel (Anna), Jodi Daniel, and Jared Daniel. He is also survived by 11 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.
