John Harris Selph

John Harris Selph, 77, of the town of Taft, FL passed away on December 14, 2014. He was born to the late John and Nomie Selph on November 27, 1937 in Tifton, GA. John was a country singer and songwriter. He wrote all of his own music, most proudly “Yogi Bear” and “All I Want For Christmas Is My Baby.” John served his country in the United States Army. He worked in the construction industry and enjoyed antique restoration and fishing. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him. John was preceded in his passing by his parents, his son Bobby Joe Selph, and his daughter Barbara Lynn Frasier. He is survived by his sons Jack Daniel Selph and Mark Andrew Selph; his daughter Sheila Selph; his brothers Robert, David, Curtis, and Jackie Selph; his sisters Pat, Mattie, and Joan; his grandchildren Jessica and Joseph; and great-grandson Jacob. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in John’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
