He graduated from Ponce Vocational School with a Mechanical Diesel degree. He was married to Nely Irizarry on December 23, 1979.
Manuel worked in Heavy Equipment for Gemasco Machinery Equipment, which he owned. He was a member of the Rotary Club in Ponce, Puerto Rico and had a passion for flying and boating.
He is survived by his wife Nely Irizarry, his children Jocelyn, Mariseli, Jose Manuel, Jr., and Jose E. Gonzalez Irizarry. He is also survived by his 17 grandchildren and by his brother Johnny.
He is predeceased by his sister Gloria and by his brother Luis.
A memorial service for Manuel will be held Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Family Funeral Care, 13001 South John Young Parkway, Orlando, Florida 32837.
