 🤣. My husband and I were so happy to give Lyle one of his bucket list wishes by taking our dear cousins to a wonderful hot air balloon festival for his 80th birthday. They came up to our new home in South Carolina and if he were here today, he would be impressed with our beautiful GREEN MANICURED LAWN! We’ve given up on our community landscapers and today, I mowed it myself! We will miss Lyle, he was a generous guy and spoke his own mind well!

Lyle was a man who left an impression with his strong opinions, his impeccably manicured lawn, and his love for his family. He was a character in the best sense of the word: full of personality, pride, and life. Lyle was self-made man, someone who built a life for himself and his family with grit and determination. Maybe that’s why he liked the finer things as an adult, not out of vanity, but because he believed he and his family deserved the best. Whether it was a luxury car or the perfectly trimmed lawn (Absolutely no one was allowed to step on the grass!) he found joy in quality.   He was a gifted salesman, winning people over with charm & persistence, even if numbers weren’t his strong suit.  He had opinions. Especially about sub sandwiches. To Lyle, a sandwich needed substance, not some sad stack of meat hiding between dry bread.  He was passionate about many things & he didn’t keep those thoughts to himself. Ever.  Though Scott & I divorced nearly 25 years ago  & I remarried, Lyle never stopped treating me as family. He welcomed Jason & our two kids without hesitation. That’s the kind of man Lyle was — deeply loyal, generous with his love, and unbothered by technicalities. If he loved you once, he loved you always. As dementia took pieces of him, I found myself pulling away. I didn’t visit much. I didn’t call. Not because I didn’t care, but because I wanted to hold on to the version of Lyle I’d always known — sharp, proud, particular, funny in his own unique way. That’s the version I’ll carry with me.
I will miss his laugh, his smile, his strong opinions about ridiculous things (like sandwiches), his jokes that never quite landed, his fierce love, his inability to hear (and to fill in those blanks with what he thought you were saying) and his unwavering sense of who he was. 
Lyle was one of a kind… and those of us who knew him, who were loved by him, are better for it.

Lyle Spector was a strong leader and co-president of The Williamsburg Homeowners' Association (WHOA) in
Orlando for many years. He devoted countless hours
to ensure that trees were replaced, roads cleared,islands maintained, sprinklers fixed, etc. He also served as President of  the villages of Parkview Point and had meticulous
standards.
   He was honest and forthright, fierce in regard to his beliefs
and loyal to friends and ideals. May he Rest in Peace and his dear wife, Gale and family know no more sadness.

“I’m deeply sorry for the loss of your beloved husband Lyle.  His memory will always live on in the hearts of those who knew him. I particularly like to remember all the weekends we spent with him in Northport  fixing up your house and barbecuing. May you find comfort in the love of family and strength in the support of friends. You’re in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”

So sorry for your loss, always enjoyed the times that Jackie and I spent with you and Lyle.

Lyle was an amazing person, friend and neighbor.  He always said I was like a brother to him.  Prayers to Gail and the family. Rest peacefully our dear friend.  Scott Nickerson & John Santos
