Margery E. Prince, 89, formerly of Detroit, passed away peacefully at home on July 13, 2018, in Orlando. She was the wife of the late Neil E. Prince, her high school sweetheart, who preceded her in death and met her with open arms. Margery loved her adopted state of Florida and so enjoyed her house and yard. Being the wife of a career Air Force officer, she moved her growing family all across the country, ensuring each new duty station was a home and an adventure for her five children. A gracious and warm hostess, she loved to entertain family and friends—always showcasing her fantastic cooking—something she lovingly passed on to her fortunate daughters and granddaughters. Once she and Neil retired in Orlando, Margery became active in the local community and worked for the Orlando Convention and Visitors Bureau for many years—a perfect fit for her friendly and gregarious personality. Besides her husband of 64 years, Margery is preceded in death by her sister Mary, son Patrick, and granddaughter Alison. Left to cherish her memory are her loving sister, Elena, daughter Maureen Kirsteatter (Gary) of Yorktown, VA; daughter Mary Deano (Sal Aprile) of Orlando; son Timothy Prince (Maureen) of Ashburn, VA; and Martha Heffernan (Dave) of Orlando. She will also be missed terribly by seven grandchildren whom she adored and were the light of her life: Kelly Favret (Derek), Jessica Jackson (Michael), Shannon Glaws (Peter), Sean Prince (Elena) and Erin, Katie, and Patrick Heffernan; six beloved great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to sincerely thank her wonderful caregiving team. We are so grateful for your compassionate and kind care and to have had you on this journey with us. A memorial mass will be held in August at Holy Family Catholic Church in Orlando with burial at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Take God's hand and rest in peace.
