Born on July 7, 1940, in Xenia (Xenia, OH), Paul moved to Orlando as a boy, where he graduated from Edgewater High School and later earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida.
In his early years, he traveled the world while working with Pan Am, building stories and experiences that stayed with him for life. He later married his beloved wife, Linda Mahaffey, and they made their home in Orlando’s Conway area before moving to Tallahassee, where they lived for many years until her passing in 2008.
Paul’s career included work with the Florida House of Representatives, as well as roles at Lockheed Martin and as a purchaser with General Dynamics.
In later years, Paul married Karla, and they shared several enjoyable years together, including travel and time at the beach, until her passing in 2025.
In 2016, after the birth of his grandson Lucas in 2014, Paul returned to Orlando to be closer to family. He cherished time with his son, David, daughter-in-law Denise, and grandchildren, Lucas and Madalyn, especially during weekly visits, holidays, and family gatherings.
He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures—dining out, meeting people, and sticking to his routines. In his later years, Denny’s became his regular breakfast spot, where he made many friends. He loved hearty meals and remained loyal to Linda’s La Cantina Steakhouse for over 50 years.
Paul loved Elvis Presley, James Bond and Mission: Impossible films, and traveling, including trips to Hawaii and Europe. He was also a lifelong fan of Chevrolet Corvettes, owning several from the 1960s through the 1990s and most recently a 2024 model.
In his later years, he found companionship with his beloved cat, Marcy, who was a constant presence by his side.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Mahaffey, and his mother, Flora L. Mahaffey. He is survived by his son, David, daughter-in-law Denise, and his grandchildren, Lucas and Madalyn, along with extended family and friends.
Paul will be remembered as a proud father and grandfather who lived fully, valued connection, and truly enjoyed life’s moments—both big and small.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Baldwin Fairchild Conway Funeral Home, 1413 S SEMORAN BLVD, ORLANDO, FL 32807, on April 25, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
