

Ralph V. Golding, of Orlando, went to his Eternal Home on May 20, 2012. He was born in Chicago, IL on June 4, 1917. Mr. Golding was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army and Navy, having trained as a glider pilot and radio operator during WWII. His life was marked by service to others in the community. These activities included tutoring in adult literacy program and volunteering for Scouts, Central Florida Blood Bank, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, and ADDitions. He was probably most proud of donating over 29 gallons of blood. He was awarded the President’s Volunteer Service award and was named Central Floridian of the Week in 2007. He had also been an active member of the Gem and Mineral Society and the Aquarium Society. Mr. Golding is survived by his wife of 69 years, Eleanore M. Golding, and children: Mary J. (William) Peoples, Pete, Lisbeth Moore, Jane (Arthur) Bullock, and Jeff (Sami), 5 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by brother, Michael. The Goldings were active members of St. Mary of the Angels Episcopal Church since 1961. A memorial service celebrating Ralph’s life will be held there on Saturday, May 26 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests blood donations in Ralph’s name or donations to Vitas Hospice Charitable Fund, the American Cancer Society, or the church.
