

BUTSCH, ROBERT LAWRENCE, 85, of Orlando, FL, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2012. Born in Birmingham, AL, he was 1 of 8 children. He was raised Methodist and attended Marian Institute before enlisting in the Air Force. He met and married Doris Bohannon in 1953. He served in the Korean War, was a flight instructor and refueled the fighter planes in the air while flying KC135. Starting a family in Enid, OK, they moved to Blyville, AR to Fairbanks, AK, then to Orlando, FL in 1969, where he would retire in 1971 in the South Conway area. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Orlando since 1969 and sang tenor in the choir, taught Sunday School and volunteered wherever needed. He attended the annual Sager Brown Mission trips for 11 years. He loved and enjoyed the Butsch Family Reunions every June and loved attending his Air Force reunions. His love for flying is unending. He is survived by 2 brothers, Lester and David, 1 sister, Mary Elizabeth, 4 children, Scott, Gwen, Matt and Susan and 3 grandchildren, Sarah, Kyle and Daniel. Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 8 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Orlando. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
