Robert Joseph Ohar

He spent 24 years in the US Navy. He was a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3433 in Summerville (Ladson) SC. He was Post Commander 2 times and District One Commander 5 times. He was also a Life Member of the Military Order of the Cooties where he served as Seam Squirrel to PT 10 before moving to PT 3.

He loved to fish and travel with his wife (who caught more fish than him most of the time). He was known as Grumpy (and was) by many. He is survived by his wife, Roxanne Ohar, son, Bobby Ohar (Melissa), daughter, Robin Tompkins, his stepdaughters, Angela Cook (Benji) and Jamie Sabelli (Ryan). He had 10 grandchildren, Tripp Ohar, Josh, Jack, Joel and Jake Tompkins, Ryan and Grayson Cook, Kyle Burckhalter, Patrick Sabelli and his only granddaughter, Lauryn Earley, brother John Ohar and sister Mary Jane Cooper.

He is pre-deceased by his parents and sister Patricia Duncan.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at 1:00 pm at VFW Post 3433, 10154 Bellwright Road, Summerville, SC.

Burial will be on Monday, February 5, 2024 at 11:00 am at Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort SC.
