Sherman James Merrill, Sr, 63, of Sanford, Florida passed away March 18, 2017. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00am, Friday, April 7, 2017 at Longwood Hills Congregational Church, 1255 EE Williamson Road, Longwood, Florida, 32750. Burial will follow at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery at 2:30pm, 5525 US-1, Mims, FL 32754. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, Wounded Warrior Project or The 700 Club. Sherman was born November 12, 1953 in Bangor, Maine. He is survived by his wife Ailyn Merrill and their children Angel Merrill and Heidel Merrill; adult children Sherman J. “Jay” Merrill, Jr., Crystal Dietz and Brianna Merrill; siblings Wayne Merrill, Marybeth Waite and Eunice Long Sherman will be remembered by his love for family, friends and his dedication to charitable organizations and Christian ministries throughout his life.
