

Socorro M Beauchamp, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 24, 2025. She was born on May 7, 1939 to the late Gabriel Beauchamp and Dolores Serrano in Utuado, Puerto Rico. Same place where she later met the love of her life Arcadio Sotomayor, and was happily married for 63 years. She was a loving presence in the lives of all who knew her.
Myrlin as everyone knew her, was known for her devotion to the Catholic Church, her great personality, kindness, willingness to help, and her unwavering dedication to her family. She was a pillar of strength, always there with a listening ear and a warm embrace. She worked as a teacher for over 30 years in Puerto Rico before she retired and moved to Orlando Florida.
Myrlin is survived by her loving husband Arcadio “Jilly”, her children Harry and Teresita, Ivelisse and Victor, and Javier and Sandra, her grandchildren Francisco and Lauren, Tania, Alexandra, Cristina, Victor Antonio and Brittany, Alexis, and her great-grandchildren, Arianna, Emery, Lucas, Valentina, and Liliana.
She is also survived by her sister Nilsa, her brother David and Iris, and her extended family.
A wake will take place on Monday April 28, 2025 from 5pm to 9pm at Dignity Memorial Family Funeral Care on 13001 South John Young Parkway, Orlando Florida 32837.
A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday April 29, 2025 at 10am on Holy Cross Catholic Church at 12600 Marsfield Avenue, Orlando, Florida 32837.
