David C. Long

He was born on March 2, 1940 in Holyoke, MA to John and Helen Long. He graduated from Holyoke High School, Worcester Academy and Boston College.

David was the long time owner of Long’s Stationery in Holyoke and Chicopee, and eventually retired from WB Mason as an area sales manager.

David was the devoted husband of Karen Long, loving father of Laurie and her partner Thomas Flynn of Marshfield, Christopher of San Francisco, Gregory and his partner Sue Ellen Snyder of South Hadley, Brian and his wife Cari of Belchertown, and beloved grandfather to Jack, Finnegan and Beckett Long.

David was predeceased by his sisters Kathy Lavelle and June Long, brothers John and James Long and leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cherished friends.

David loved to have fun and was always ready with a good joke. He especially enjoyed fishing with his brothers and sons in Rhode Island, spending time with Karen on their sailboat “Long Winded” and travelling the Northeast in their RV. An avid sports fan of the Red Sox and Patriots, game days will never be the same without Dave.

His last 18 years were spent on Cape Cod, a place he loved so much.
