She enjoyed working crossword puzzles with her sister-in-law, Diane and her annual New Year's Day brunches with Al and Mona. Ellie went to work at the Brewster Elementary School cafeteria later becoming the Supervisor of the Eddy Elementary School cafeteria. Ellie could be found outside enjoying her retirement years tending her garden or landscaping around her home and spending the winter months in Naples, Florida. Ellie adored her eight grandchildren with whom she played, hosted backyard camping, taught how to bake, threw the best birthday parties, or shared quality time talking and laughing.

Eleanor is survived by her husband Richard F. Chipman and their four children, Russell, Michael, Jill McGinn, Joy Manchester, and their spouses. She is also survived by her eight beloved grandchildren Rory, Maggie, Riley, Mizuki, Takuma, Zachary, Dillon, and Connor.
