Marie A. Magrath

Marie was born in Cambridge Ma. One of 5 children she grew up in Arlington Ma. where as a teenager she met and married the absolute love of her life Frank Magrath. Together, Marie and Frank embarked on a 65 year journey where they raised their two sons Danny and David who were her pride and joy.

Marie’s greatest gift in life was the love, compassion and endless affection she showered upon her family and friends alike. The sound of her “hi darling” with that Boston accent “I love you” and the warmth of her incredible hugs we will hold onto forever.

Marie loved to travel, she and Frank shared wonderful excursions together across the U.S and Europe. Thru Frank’s work they experienced life all over the country including Arizona, Washington State, Indiana and Ohio, finally returning home to enjoy their retirement years in Harvard Ma. and her favorite place, Cape Cod with her family. Marie loved to read books and her morning crossword puzzle ritual was legendary as was her sense of fashion. Whether going to the grocery store or to a special event Marie was always impeccably dressed and looked beautiful.

Marie’s love of children and nurturing nature drove her to work as a nanny for numerous children over the years which gave her great joy and purpose, none more than the time she spent as nanny for her granddaughter Casey whom she cherished.

As member of the Mayflower Society of Descendants, Marie was very proud of her heritage and spent countless hours researching and documenting her family history, a keepsake we will cherish.

Marie is survived by her loving husband Frank, her adoring boys Danny and David, their spouses Joan and Ray, her beautiful granddaughter Casey, her husband George and most recently her great grandson Harry who will learn all about his incredible Gram thru the many pictures and stories he will see and hear throughout his life.
