

North Eastham-May 19, 2012 - Mary Louise (Power) Brennan, of North Eastham, formerly of Mission Hill and Wellesley, daughter of the late Marion (Brannelley) Power and Justin E. Power, Sr., loving wife of the late Francis J. Brennan, survived by her children, Jeanne Crosby of North Easton, MA, Maria Brennan of North Easton, MA, Denise Brennan of North Eastham, MA, and Michael Brennan of Blackstone, MA; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Brian, Aidan and Luke; pre-deceased by her brothers, Justin E. Power, Sr., and Leo T. Power, and survived by her sister Ruth Campbell (and brother-in-law, the late Francis X. Campbell), brothers Richard F. Power and sister-in-law Marie, Robert M. Power and sister-in-law Chailang Palacios, sister Margaret J. Shea and brother-in-law Francis J. Shea, and sister-in-law Rita M. Power. Mrs. Brennan was a graduate of Mission High School, Boston State Teachers' College, and pursued a graduate degree in special education at Boston University. She lived in La Jolla, California, and taught in the San Diego Public Schools, before returning to Massachusetts to teach in the Belmont Public Schools. She was married April 15, 1961, and devoted her life to raising her children, and caring for her extended family and friends. Lovingly referred to by her sister Margie as the "Perle Mesta" of North Eastham and Wellesley, Mrs. Brennan was known for her superb entertaining skills. Mrs. Brennan spent most of her free time in the summer at Cooks Brook Beach in North Eastham, with her family and friends. She was a daily communicant at her church, and was a very well informed and proud Democrat. Her family and friends will remember her love of holidays, Christmas and the Fourth of July, in particular. A very happy occasion was the birth of her first grandson on the Fourth of July in 1993. Mrs. Brennan loved music, especially Broadway show tunes and patriotic songs, which she enjoyed playing on the piano. Services will be Thursday, May 24, 2012 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Nickerson Funeral Home in Orleans, MA, and a funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 25, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Orleans, MA.
