

Patricia Maryann (O’Connell) Barletta 81, of Brewster, MA died Monday, January 31, 2011after a long illness in Epoch of Brewster, Brewster, MA. She was the daughter of the late Julia Kopf and James O’Connell.
Born in Brooklyn, NY she attended Saint Theresa’s grammar school and Bishop McDonald Memorial high school. She also attended Brooklyn College and St. John’s University.
When she married the late Charles Spahr they moved to Mary Queen of Heaven Parish in Brooklyn where they raised their 5 children. She was active in school and church activities. She was a den mother, softball and basketball coach.
She then married the late William Peper. She returned to the workforce as a supervisor at the U.S Department of Labor, where she met and married the late Harold Barletta. They shared many years and memories together on Cape Cod. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Cape Church, and actively involved in many of the church’s activities. She was a member of the Brewster Captain’s Golf Course, and the Brewster Council on Aging. She was extremely proud of her hole in one at Myrtle Beach. She enjoyed golf, swimming, movies, poker, and the casino.
She is survived by her children Susan Kosman and husband Walter of Wethersfield, CT, James Spahr of Brooklyn, NY, Charles Spahr and wife Lorraine of New Albany, OH; stepchildren, Anthony, Regina, Robert, Margaret; sister, Joan Mulrooney of Staten Island, NY, six grandchildren, Victoria and Chuck Kosman, Kimberly and John McNamara, Zachary and Sarah Spahr, 5 step-grandchildren, and daughter-in-law, Maureen Spahr of Sacramento, CA. She was the mother of the late Julie Spahr McNamara and William Spahr. She was also the sister of the late James, John, and William O’Connell.
Her visitation will be held on Friday, February 4, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. in the Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her funeral mass on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Cape Church, Stony Brook Road, Brewster, MA. Her burial will be private.
