OBITUARY

Suzanne F. Goodrich

13 November, 1946 – 29 March, 2021
IN THE CARE OF

Nickerson Funeral Home

Goodrich, Suzanne F., 74, of Eastham, formerly of Foxboro, passed away on March 29, 2021. She leaves behind her loving husband of 55 years, Carl A. Goodrich. Susie was the dear daughter of the late Sherwin and Alice (LaFrennie) King and grew up in Holyoke, MA. She was a proud graduate of Amherst Regional High School and went on to pursue her realtor’s license after being encouraged by her coworkers.

Susie and Carl moved to Cape Cod for mutual career opportunities. In 1980 Susie established Anchor Real Estate in Eastham with three other associates. In 1993 her hard work, determination and planning led to earning the most prestigious honor a realtor can hold, Susie was awarded Massachusetts Realtor of the Year beating out more than 14,500 realtors in Massachusetts.

As chairman of the Massachusetts Association of Realtors’ legal affairs committee, she was instrumental in getting a new “legal hotline” up and running to provide legal information to members. Locally, she led an effort to examine new technology for the boards’ Multiple Listing Service (MLS), this led to encouraging more cooperation between offices to share inventory data. Susie also progressively advocated for the growing buyer-brokerage movement, in which agents represent buyers rather than sellers.

In addition to these accomplishments, Susie was also involved in the Cape Cod and Islands Board of Realtors, Cape Cod Five Board of Trustees, and the Cape Cod Healthcare Board of Trustees. In her private time, Susie enjoyed collecting beautiful oriental rugs, antiquing and traveling the world with her husband. Susie was outgoing, stylish and never let the world pass her by.

In addition to her husband, Susie will be truly missed by her niece, Heather Kritchfield-Furster of Puerto Rico as well as Susie’s sister, Sherry (Joe) Lyons of Scituate, MA. She is preceded in death by her sister Janine Goodhind.

Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in Susie’s memory will be made to Alzheimer’s Research at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Alzheimer’s Research Fund in Memory of Suzanne Goodrich, c/o MGH Development Office, 125 Nashua Street, Suite 540, Boston, MA 02114.
