William ‘Bill’ J. Boyd, 97 years young, of Orleans, MA died peacefully at home on November 6 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 75 years, Pauline (Close) Boyd. Proud father of Scott Boyd and his wife Kathy of Canton, MA and Kevin of Orleans and pre-deceased by his loving daughter, Patricia ‘Patti’.
Proud ‘Grampa’ and ‘Papa’ to Rob, Jef, Sean and Greg. Great-grandfather to 5 great- granddaughters and 1 great-grandson.
Born and raised in Brockton, Bill graduated from Brockton High School in 1946. He was an employee of Raytheon for over 30 years as well as being an accomplished artist.
A funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 17 at 11:00 am at St. Joan of Arc Parish in Orleans. Visiting hours prior to the funeral from 9:30-10:30 at the Nickerson Funeral home in Orleans, MA. A private burial will be held at a later date at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
