With a heavy heart we announce the passing of our Dad, Mr. Allen J. Howard, Sr. He was born in Quitman, GA in 1926. Allen was 85 years old, a WWII veteran, and he retired from the United States Navy in 1963. He also retired from Varig Airlines in 1989. He was a quiet, gentle man who was loved by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Bassing Howard; his daughters, Donna Howard St -John and Kathryn Witter; and his son, Frank Clemmons. Survivors include his son, Allen J. Howard, Jr. (Inez); his daughters, Elaine Hutchison (John), Patricia Kneale (Ron), and Eileen Clemmons (Mary); his 10 grandchildren; his 21 and counting great-grandchildren; and his faithful companion, Angie. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 28, 2012 in Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 N. Nova Rd., Ormond Beach, FL 32137.
