A cherished member of Tomoka United Methodist Church, Allison lived a life filled with warmth, kindness, and devotion to those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Shaw; her dear mother, Alice Norton; father, Richard Norton; and her brother, Robert Zakur.
Allison leaves behind a loving family who will carry her memory in their hearts: her sons, Jeffrey (Jackie) Carlson and Todd (Janine) Carlson; stepdaughters, Lynda (Rob) Krauth and Pamela (Craig) White; stepson, William (Patricia) Shaw; her brother, Paul Zakur; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Allison had a joyful spirit and a zest for life. She found happiness in crafting, traveling—especially on cruises—and cheering on her beloved Red Sox and Patriots. She treasured her time playing bingo and mahjong with the dear friends she made in Bear Creek.
Proud of her Swedish heritage, Allison loved celebrating family traditions and decorating for the holidays—bringing joy and beauty into every season. She delighted in sharing stories and milestones about her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life.
A lifelong dancer, Allison loved square dancing and tap dancing, finding great joy and friendship through movement and music.
Her days were rarely without laughter, plans for a new adventure, or a thoughtful gesture for someone she cared about. Allison was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend—always giving, always present, and always loving.
Her life was a beautiful example of grace, compassion, and joy. Those who were blessed to know her will forever hold her in their hearts.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, October 14th, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., with a memorial service to follow at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 N Nova Road, Ormond Beach, Florida.
